The World Series of Poker Main Event started Saturday at noon. The last of its three flights started Monday at noon, with play continuing to just before 1 a.m.

Thousands of people have entered the $10,000 buy-in event. They are all trying to win their portion of the $60 million prize pool. The winner will walk away with nearly $9 million and the coveted World Series of Poker Champion’s Bracelet.

The field of players will be narrowed down over the next eight days of poker to a table of nine. Play will start again in October with the winner expected October 30 or October 31.
