Clark County wants to hear what people living in the southwest part of the Las Vegas valley have to say about plans to develop the Southwest Ridge Recreational Area.

County Commission Chair Susan Brager and the County Comprehensive Planning Department are hosting the second open house about the topic next week. Officials want to share information about plans for the area, which is 1,200 acres of land in the foothills west of southern Summerlin and Rhodes Ranch, between Tropicana Avenue and Blue Diamond Road.

The county would like to hear from the public about what types of recreational facilities and park amenities they would want.

“The Southwest Ridge is a beautiful area with a lot of room for parks and other recreational amenities,” Commission Chair Brager said. “This open house is a great opportunity for residents to help shape their community.”

The open house will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road.
