Fire Department to Host Open House

The Clark County Fire Department is hosting an open house at Fire Station 65 on Saturday, Dec. 14.

From noon to 3 p.m., people can visit the fire station at 3825 Starr Ave., which is near Valley View Blvd. and Southern Highlands Pkwy.

During the open house, people will be able to tour the fire station, meet with representatives of other county agencies and nonprofits dedicated to safety.

The open house also coincides with 12th annual Fill the Fire Truck holiday toy drive sponsored by the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation and United Citizens Foundation.

People are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift card that will be distributed to local agencies, charities and churches.

“We are happy to host this open house in conjunction with the firefighters’ annual toy drive,” said Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager, whose District F includes Fire Station 65. “The Fire Department does an excellent job organizing these events and making them fun and educational for the public, and if you donate any toys you’ll be able to help make the holidays brighter for children in need in our community.”

Helping Kids Clinic will also be there to provide free flu shots.
