Fundraiser to Benefit Children with Rare Diseases

A local nonprofit will be holding a fundraising to benefit children dealing with life-limiting and rare diseases

The Little Miss Hannah Foundation will host its 2nd annual Little Miss Hannah's Rainbows in the Wind fundraiser from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Town Square.

The event will feature several activities for kids, including carnival games, a magic show, cake-pop decorating, fun science experiments and visits from favorite characters.

There will also be a raffle for prizes ranging from show tickets to golf packages. Raffle tickets will be sold for $2 to $5 each.

The evening will end with a special memorial ceremony where people can remember family members they have lost by releasing balloons with feathers and a personal message attached.

The foundation was started in honor of Hannah Ostrea, 3-year-old girl who died after battling a rare and life-limiting genetic metabolic disorder.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help children suffering from similar medical problems and their families. The foundation provides financial and emotional support for local families.  For more information about the foundation, go to littlemisshannah.org.
