Las Vegas Woman Wins Grocery Store Contest | Business

Las Vegas resident Tonya Jacobsen recently won a year’s worth of groceries ($5,000) in Fresh & Easy’s Design–a-Bag contest.
Tonya’s colorful acrylic-painted design of fruits, vegetables and the sun boasting the Fresh & Easy logo was chosen by Fresh & Easy customers to be the company’s next reusable bag. Jacobsen, who paints in her spare time, will see her design printed on reusable bags to be sold at all Fresh & Easy stores in California, Nevada and Arizona later this year.
Fresh & Easy launched this year’s Design-a-Bag contest in April to encourage reusable bag usage. Fresh & Easy customers in California, Nevada and Arizona 13 years old and over were eligible to submit a unique bag design. Fresh & Easy received 800 entries, and from there, 10 finalists were chosen for online voting. Out of 30,000 votes, Tonya Jacobsen of Las Vegas received the most votes and won a year’s worth of Fresh & Easy groceries.
