'Pacman' Gets Probation for Role in Vegas Melee

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals corner Adam "Pacman" Jones has been sentenced to probation and 200 hours of community service under a plea deal for his role in a 2007 strip club melee in Las Vegas.

Clark County courts spokeswoman Mary Ann Price said Jones received a suspended sentence on Thursday and was also ordered to receive anger management counseling. The sentence requires Jones to undergo random drug testing.

Jones told the Las Vegas Sun after the sentencing that he's glad to finally have the case behind him.

Prosecutors say the shooting left a club employee paralyzed and two others wounded.

Jones pleaded no contest in 2007 to a gross misdemeanor of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct. His deal reduced two felony coercion charges. Jones has denied having a role in the shooting.

Arizona Man Faces Charges After Vegas Road Melee

LAS VEGAS  -- An Arizona man who opened fire at police and passing motorists on a bustling Las Vegas highway last week allegedly beat his pregnant girlfriend before shooting at her with a shotgun.

A criminal complaint released Tuesday states 29-year-old Jose Castro will face charges of absentia on attempted murder with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

Police say Castro and his girlfriend, Beatriz Calleros, were driving with two of Castro's cousins on Interstate 15 when Castro became violent.

Calleros told police she was two months pregnant with Castro's child when he kicked her in the stomach. He then pulled out his shotgun.

Castro, of the Phoenix suburb of Chandler, was shot by a police officer during the Thursday afternoon melee.

Social Media Hooks Up Customers with Deals

LAS VEGAS -- Social media isn't just a place for friends to connect, it is also a smart marketing ploy if used right. Shopping centers are jumping on the social media bandwagon and using it to draw in hundreds of customers daily.

Town Square has 16,000 Facebook fans, the most out of any shopping center in Las Vegas. They decided to use those numbers to their advantage to increase sales.

Marie Moten is a self-admitted shopaholic. "There's specials for all kinds of things," she said. Moten and her credit card are taking a little lunch break at Town Square. It's a quick break from all the sales and deals she got from her cell phone.

"I just realized recently you don't have to print out a coupon. As long as you have the barcode on your phone, they can scan it," she said.

Everyday Moten checks Town Square's Facebook page for store sales.
