Photo Gallery | Recycle Old Computers for Kids in Need

When a computer is out of date, it often gets shoved to the back of the closet or pushed into the garage. Now there is way for people to donate those out-of-use computers for kids in need.

The nonprofit Computers for Kids first recycling event started Friday and will continue Saturday.  Donated computers will be securely stripped of information, refurbished and distributed to needy kids within Clark County.

Those getting the computers also get a chance to get computer training and technical support. The nonprofit is looking to collect and distribute more than 3,500 computers this year. It also means those machines and the often toxic chemicals inside will be kept out of landfills.

Donations will be accepted 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Computers for Kids, 5180 S. Cameron Street, Suite 2. Individuals and businesses can donate. Individuals will get a tax deductable receipt.
