Lanes Shifting Along I-15

Lanes Shifting Along I-15

The southbound lanes of I-15 are changing again as part of the I-15 Design-Build South project.

Starting Sunday night lane assignments for the left lanes along I-15 will be changing. Drivers in the third lane from the left will have the choice of continuing along I-15 or exiting onto I-215 eastbound. Drivers in the fourth lane from the left will be able to exit onto I-215 east or westbound but they won't be able to continue along I-15 southbound. The new configuration will stay in place around the clock for the next two months. It will allow crews to work on the Express Lanes in that part of I-15.

Delays in that stretch of the freeway are expected so plan ahead for traffic tie-ups.

Two large statues of Nevada's native bighorn sheep are now part of the landscape. The artwork is part of the I-15 Design-Build South Project. Besides the sheep the area is landscaped with native plants including yucca, acacia, and Joshua trees some of which are 200 years old.

Drivers will have to pay close attention to the exits on I-15 northbound.

Starting Friday morning the exit from I-15 northbound to I-215 east and westbound will start about a mile south of where it is currently. The change is part of the I-15 Design Build South Project. The change takes place at 5 a.m. Friday. The new exit will actually be before the exit to Blue Diamond Road. Crews are asking drivers to pay close attention to the signs that will be posted in the area.
