Open House Set for New Mountain's Edge Park
Public Spaces

People living in the southwest part of the valley are invited to an open house to discuss plans for a regional park and trail project for Mountain’s Edge.

The first open house will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 15. The meeting will be at Reedom Elementary School near Buffalo Drive and Mountain’s Edge Parkway.

A display of the plans for the park, which will be at 7929 Mountain’s Edge Parkway between Buffalo and Durango Drives, will be at the meeting. The first phase calls for 15 acres of playgrounds, parking, grassy play areas, benches and picnic facilities. There would also be 1.5 miles of paved walking trails with rest stops. The park and trail system would serve people living in Mountain’s Edge, Rhodes Ranch and Southern Highlands.

Money for the project would come from the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act funding. Construction is set to start in January 2013 with a completion date of October 2013. There will be a second open house in February before the Enterprise Town Advisory Board meeting.
