Exotic Animal Permit Approved for Southwest Home | Pets
The Clark County Commission approved an exotic animal permit for a local nonprofit looking to house some unusual animals in a southwest home.
The commissioners approved a permit for Wild Adventures Zoo. Stacey Weiss owns the zoo and keeps the 11 animals in her home, including sugar gliders, opossums and a hedgehog. She takes the animals, which are all less than 10 pounds, to schools and hospitals. People cannot visit her home to see the animals.
While the commissioners approved the permit, it will be up to Weiss’ neighborhood homeowners association to give the final approval. She is planning to get three more animals, including a rodent that can grow up to 120 pounds.
