Heller Talks to Vegas Chamber About Economic Recovery | Employment / Jobs
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller says big government, big business and big unions are stalling the economic recovery.
Heller said Friday that federal bailouts of some auto companies and banks rewarded bad decisions.
Heller is speaking at a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting at the Palms casino off the Las Vegas Strip. He is running to keep his seat against Democrat Shelley Berkley. She has represented Las Vegas in the U.S. House since 1999.
The chamber event comes a few months after Heller cancelled a meeting at the last minute with the separate Latin Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas because some Democratic leaders showed up to hear his speech.
