LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A man sought in a sex assault investigation barricaded himself inside a Las Vegas home for five hours and was bit by a police dog before being arrested on more than a dozen child sex abuse charges.

Las Vegas police said 38-year-old Agustin Baranda was arrested Wednesday as part of a sex assault investigation.

He now faces more than a dozen charges, including sex assault against a child under 14- and under 16-years-old, sex assault and lewdness with a child under 14-years-old.

Police said a SWAT team was called to a home in the southwest valley around 3 p.m. and homes nearby were evacuated when Baranda refused to come out.

He was arrested after being bit by a K-9 unit and taken to the hospital for his injuries
