LAS VEGAS -- A Clark County grand jury indicted Steve Norwood on charges of murder with use of a deadly weapon and two counts of dissuading witnesses to testify in connection with a June 17 shooting at a gas station on Tropicana and Valley View.

Norwood is accused of shooting victim Santiago Flanders in the face, and Flanders died at the scene. A stray bullet also allegedly landed in a car passing by the scene.

While in custody, Norwood allegedly sent letters to a woman, instructing her to contact witnesses to dissuade them from testifying against him.

Norwood remains in custody on no bail at the Clark County Detention Center. He is due in court Sept. 10. He also faces sexual trafficking charges in a separate case, according to prosecutors.
