A/C Problems May Force Flamingo DMV Office to Curtail Services

The hot weather and air conditioning problems may force the DMV office on West Flamingo to cut back services, the agency said.

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles announced Tuesday that the office will remain open but services may have to be curtailed, after one of two air conditioning units stopped working.

The DMV may close written tests and some service windows on the north side of the building if temperatures reach uncomfortable levels.

The office closed entirely Monday, when temperatures inside the office soared to nearly 100 degrees.

Workers with the Nevada State Buildings and Grounds Division are expected to install a temporary compressor system early Wednesday morning. A compressor that will permanently fix the problem is being sent from the east coast.

Customers are being asked to use other offices while the air conditioning is fixed. People can also access services online at dmvnv.com.
