Consumer Reports Ranks Southern Nevada Hospitals | Health
A report released Thursday by Consumer Reports rated hospitals around the country.
The magazine looked at 11,000 hospitals. They were rated on six categories, including infections, serious complications, death rate and re-admissions. In southern Nevada, St. Rose Dominican San Martin had the seventh lowest score in the country. It received 24 out of 100.
In a statement to 8 News NOW, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals said consumers need to be informed about where data used to evaluate hospitals is coming from. The company also said: "Quality improvement is an on-going process. By working in partnership with our patients, our visitors and our community, we are constantly improving the safety and quality of patient care for all."
The hospital group also pointed out it was the first hospitals in southern Nevada to provide quality information on its website.
The highest scoring hospital in southern Nevada was Southern Hills Hospital which scored 55 out of 100. No hospital in the survey scored above 80.
