Patients Can Notify ER They're on Their Way

Hospitals in the Sunrise Health System have a new way for patients to alert staff in the emergency room that they are on the way.

The iNotify system is through the healthcare app iTriage. When a patient uses the iTriage app, he or she has the option to click the notify button which allows the patient to fill out symptom information, allergies and other health information the staff may need to know. The information is then sent directly to the hospital emergency room staff, allowing them to get ready for an incoming patient.

iTriage is available for a free download for iPhone and Android. The notify program is available at Sunrise, MountainView, Southern Hills and Sunrise Children’s Hospitals.

"More than 50 percent of Americans now own a smart phone, and they are increasingly relying on them to access information," said Sylvia Young, President and CEO of the Sunrise Health System. "Launching iNotify allows us to provide our community with the technology and resources to quickly find and access care when they have an immediate medical need, while at the same time allowing hospital staff to prepare for the needs of incoming patients."
