County Commissioners to Look at Trash, Recycling Changes

The Clark County Commission may finally make a decision on changing trash pickup and recycling.

The commission will look at changing the agreement with Republic Services to allow for pickup to one day a week and increase recycling pickup to one day a week.

The system has been in place in several neighborhoods for years as a pilot program to see which system increases recycling.

The plan also includes changing from recycling bins that require homeowners to sort their own trash to single-stream recycling, which is one bin where all recyclables are placed for pick up.

According to Republic Services, the once-weekly trash, and once-weekly recycling pilot program has boosted recycling.
