Local Bands Compete for $10,000 Prize at Extreme Thing

A Las Vegas band will win a $10,000 recording package this weekend during the annual Extreme Thing at Desert Breeze Park.

The entertainment and extreme sports event will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and will include several stages with local bands and DJ’s.

Besides the music, BMX riders, wrestlers and skateboarder will show off their talents in competitions and demonstrations.

The band competition for the $10,000 recording package will be on the International Academy of Design & Technology stage.

The six bands set to perform Saturday were chosen from 70 bands that originally performed in a battle of the bands in February.

The finalists will compete for a five-day, high-quality recording package at IADT’s new industry-current studio, valued at $10,000.

Food and drink vendors will be available. Clark County puts on Extreme Thing and expects 25,000 people for the all day concert and sports event.
