Students Prepare Lunch for Teachers

Teachers around southern Nevada are getting extra love from their students because it is Teacher Appreciation Week.

The culinary students at Southwest Career and Technical Academy surprised their teachers with a special lunch Monday. The students prepared and served a three-course meal in a semi-fine dining experience.

"The kids are giving back to their teachers. It is a chance for the students and the district to say: 'you are appreciated. We really do appreciate all the hard work you put in all year long with our students in the classroom'." Melinda Malone with Clark County School District said.

Superintendent Dwight Jones along with other administrators from CCSD covered teaching duties in the classroom. Teacher Appreciation Week goes through Friday.
