Metro Police are looking for the man shot and injured a one person in an apparently random crime.

According to police, the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Oct. 1 at a gas station near Durango Drive and Desert Inn Road.

The victim was putting gas in his car, when a man approached him, asked him what he was looking at, pulled out a handgun and fired one round. The victim was hit in the leg, taken to the hospital and treated and released.

Metro's violent crime section is asking for the public's help in tracking down the man responsible. Police are looking for three people who were in the area just before the shooting. They are not suspects, but detectives would like to speak to them.

Surveillance cameras at the convenience store captured images of the three people. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crimes Section at (702) 828-5634, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
