Congressional Art Contest Winners Announced

Two southern Nevada students were named winners in the 30th annual Congressional Art Competition.

The winner for Congressional District 1 was Katie Caddick, a student at Las Vegas Academy. The winner for Congressional District 3 was Chelsea Bissell, a student at Spring Valley High School. Their artwork will be part of the “Artistic Discovery” exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.

The second and third place winners will be on display in congressional offices in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas. More than 200 students entered this year’s contest.

“The talent displayed by Nevada’s student artists is truly amazing and I congratulate the winners from my Congressional District and thank all those who took part in this year’s contest,” Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev. said.
