Metro investigating 2 suspicious deaths at apartment complex

Metro police are investigating two suspicious deaths at an apartment complex in southwest Las Vegas.

Police were called around 12:39 p.m. when someone discovered the bodies in an apartment in the 4400 block of Hualapai Way between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue.

According to police, the victims are a man and woman, both in their 20's. The man was shot, but police have not yet determined how the woman died. They believe the bodies have been in the apartment for a day.

Metro said one of the victims was related to a first responder.
Metro believes the suspicious death of the two people was an isolated incident. They don't believe anyone else is in harm's way, but one neighbor says he's afraid and plans to move away.

"It's just really scary what happened, said Jon Quianzon, tenant. "I'm walking my daughter one night, and somebody gets to shooting or whatever and then what happens next, I don't know, right now I'm just kinda thinking of the safety of my daughter."
