Male critically hurt in crash near downtown Las Vegas |

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)-- Las Vegas police are investigating a crash near W. Washington Ave & Down Way Thursday night.

Police responded to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. for a motor vehicle crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian. 

The victim, the 48-year-old male, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation showed that the pedestrian was crossing Washington Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.

Neither of the occupants in the Kia Sorento sustained any injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the LVMPD Traffic Bureau.
