UPDATE: 2 killed in crash after truck runs red light at Las Vegas Blvd, St. Rose Pkwy; driver arrested for DUI

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Two people are dead after a crash Saturday morning at the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard.

According to NHP Trooper Ashlee Wellman, a Trooper responded to the intersection just after 9 a.m. for the report of crash involving two vehicle.

Witnesses say they saw a White GMC pickup truck run a red light at the intersection, hitting a gray Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was airlifted to UMC Trauma where they were late pronounced dead.

The driver of the GMC truck was taken to UMC also, and is in custody with NHP for driving under the influence.

The intersection was closed as NHP Troopers investigated, but it has since reopened.
