Lesly Palacio’s family continues fight for justice, asks for community’s help

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A week after Lesly Palacio’s body was discovered in the desert outside Las Vegas, her family is asking the community to help them find the men connected to her death.

“Lesly did not deserve that,” the Palacio family lawyer Ofelia Markarian said. “Nobody deserves that.”

The 22-year-old’s body was found near Valley of Fire State Park on Wendesday, September 9, after days of frantic efforts to find her alive.

“We’re scared. We can’t even go out,” Palacio’s cousin said. “Because we are always looking everywhere.”

Now, her loved ones told 8 News Now they fear for their own safety as the search continues for 25-year-old Erick Rangel-Ibarra and 45-year-old Jose Antonio Rangel.

The father and son were last seen on August 29, the day Lesly first disappeared. She was last seen with Rangel-Ibarra at Longhorn Casino & Hotel around 2 a.m.

“This is a murder,” Markarian said. “And there are murderers out there and we don’t know who’s next.”

“We have to take care of all of Vegas, I think,” Palacio’s cousin added. “This community, we have to be together.”

They are asking for everyone’s help to find the suspects, so they can find closure and focus on grieving in peace after this unimaginable tragedy.

The family and their attorney, who was also Lesly’s friend, said they don’t want anyone to forget her.

They also want to find the people involved in her death to bring her justice and stop them from hurting anyone else. @8NewsNow #8NN pic.twitter.com/yrtlSCEBwE

“We want the investigation to keep going and we want justice, Markarian said. “We want these suspects apprehended.”

“It doesn’t end here,” Markarian concluded.

According to court records, Erick Rangel-Ibarra is facing a charge of open murder, along with charges for destroying/concealing evidence.
