Suspect in Custody After Police Manhunt

A suspect is in custody and facing charges after a manhunt that lasted nearly two hours in the area of Torrey Pines and Twain Wednesday.

Metro police say the incident happened when an officer made a traffic stop and the suspect took off running. At one point the officer fired his gun at the suspect but did not hit him. Several streets were closed and seven schools were put on lockdown as a safety precaution. The following schools are no longer on lockdown:

Police Investigate Child with Loaded Gun at School Bus Stop

A Ries Elementary School student is in serious trouble for having a loaded gun at a school bus stop Friday morning.

Police say the 7-year-old student brought the gun to the bus stop and while showing it to another student, fired it and struck a parked utility vehicle.

The Clark County School District says there were 46 children waiting at the bus stop near Blue Diamond and Decatur when the second grader began showing kids the 9mm gun.

"It is an unfortunate incident and of course we do not know all the details behind this and what he was thinking but it is a very scary thought to think that a 7-year-old is in possession of a gun," said Sgt. Darnell Couthen, CCSD Police.

The school bus driver was told of the gun and reported it to authorities.

Woman Who Shot Husband Leaves Jail

The woman accused of shooting her husband to death in front of the couple's home is out of jail.

Ericka McElroy was released Tuesday because prosecutors had yet to file charges against her. She is accused of shooting her husband, 37-year-old Shane McElroy after a domestic dispute in front of their home near Cactus and Decatur.

McElroy told police her husband was abusive to her and she killed him because she believed he was going to kill her.

Arrest Report Reveals Details About Deadly Domestic Shooting

LAS VEGAS, Nv. -- There are new details in the domestic fight that left a Las Vegas man dead in the street in front of his southwest home.

Ericka McElroy who is 25-years-old was arrested for the shooting Wednesday morning. In the Arrest Report, she told officers her husband Shane McElroy accused her of having an affair the night before the shooting.

McElroy told police that her husband left and then came back drunk and after fighting inside their home near Cactus and Decatur, McElroy says she grabbed her 20 gauge shotgun out of a closet.

Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly

A 37-year-old man is dead as a result of a domestic dispute Wednesday morning. Police say, in this case, his wife pulled the trigger.

The incident happened shortly after 5 a.m.

School Bus Accident Sends Students to Hospital

LAS VEGAS, Nv -- A morning accident involving a school bus and a car at Eastern and Sahara has sent five students to the hospital. Police say the students were suffering with scrapes and bruises after the school bus they were on collided with a stopped car.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. in front of Valley High School. 

Metro identified the school bus driver as 54-year-old Willie Carter and say he is at fault for the accident.

Metro tells Eyewitness News the crash is a case of the school bus driver simply not accounting for other drivers.

Police say the driver of a gray BMV was in the center turning lane on Eastern waiting to merge with southbound traffic, when the school bus heading north was trying to make a left turn into the high school. That's when the bus sideswiped the driver side of that BMW.

Man Killed After Being Struck by Cars

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a man who was struck and killed by vehicles after walking into traffic Tuesday night on the 215 Beltway in southwest Las Vegas.

The man's name wasn't immediately released after the 8:20 p.m. crash near Rainbow Boulevard. NHP Sgt. Kevin Honea says the driver of one vehicle that hit the man stayed at the scene. Others drove away.
